There are no alerts at this time. If you are experiencing a water, power, or sewer emergency or service problem call our 24-hour hotline at 3-1-1 or (415) 701-2311 from outside SF or log on at sf311.org.
To minimize impacts to the roadway and adjacent residences and businesses, most of the sewer rehabilitation work will be performed using a trenchless method called Cured-In-Place-Pipe (CIPP). Construction will include improvements to sewer lower laterals within the project area. In some locations, street excavation may be required, and advance notice will be provided.
Address aging sewer system infrastructure
Increase reliability of our City’s critical sewer system infrastructure
About the SSIP
The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) recently launched the Sewer System Improvement Program (SSIP), a citywide investment to upgrade our aging sewer system and provide a more reliable, sustainable, and seismically safe system now and for future generations. The SSIP includes a series of facility upgrades at the Southeast Treatment Plant (SEP) located in the Bayview neighborhood of San Francisco.
