San Francisco Small Business Week is an annual event that celebrates the City's thriving small business community. This year marks the 19th annual celebration, and it promises to be bigger and better than ever. The programming for this year’s event focuses on providing resources and information that can help small business owners at every stage of their journey. 

Many small businesses in San Francisco are also customers of the SFPUC's clean energy programs, CleanPowerSF and Hetch Hetchy Power. To celebrate Small Business Week, let's take a closer look at six of these businesses that are powered by 100% clean energy. 

Boudin Bakery is a San Francisco classic that has been around since 1849. This bakery is known for its original San Francisco sourdough bread and serves a wide range of dining options, from casual breakfast, lunch, and dinner to a full-service dining experience. Boudin Bakery at Pier 39 is powered by Hetch Hetchy Power, which provides 100% greenhouse gas-free electricity to municipal, residential, and commercial customers.  

Goat Hill Pizza is another San Francisco staple that has been serving its unique sourdough crust for more than four decades. This neighborhood pizzeria is committed to celebrating its community's unique history by hosting school fundraisers, birthday parties, and art shows. Goat Hill Pizza is powered by CleanPowerSF, San Francisco’s community choice energy program.  

Happy Lemon is a tea shop that brews fresh tea every day and incorporates generations of tea culture into all of its drinks. This popular shop now has over 1,000 stores globally, and its San Francisco location in the Salesforce Transit Center is powered by Hetch Hetchy Power. 

Green Apple Books is an independent bookseller that has been serving the Inner Sunset neighborhood and San Francisco community since 1967. This beloved bookstore offers a vast selection of new and old books, and it is powered by CleanPowerSF. 

Pinhole Coffee is a kid-friendly café that features artwork from local artists and sources pastries from local bakeries. This community-focused coffee shop opened its doors in 2014 and is powered by CleanPowerSF. 

Rainbow Grocery is a local, independent grocery store that has been serving San Francisco and the Bay Area since 1975. This store offers the widest selection of organic and locally sourced products at an affordable price, and it is powered by CleanPowerSF’s 100% renewable electricity service option, SuperGreen.  

Small businesses play a vital role in the local economy, and they contribute to the unique character and charm of our City. By supporting small businesses, the SFPUC is helping to create jobs, strengthen communities, and keep neighborhoods vibrant.
