San Francisco's Urban Watersheds

Our creative programs help conserve water and protect our local watersheds.

Every resident lives in a watershed, and our local watersheds drain either to the San Francisco Bay or the Pacific Ocean. Discover your watershed, and help protect it and our beautiful bay and ocean.

Find your local watershed using our interactive map, hear stories about our watersheds, and learn about future watershed projects.

This technology harnesses plants and soils to help slow down and filter stormwater. Green infrastructure also makes our city streets safer and more beautiful.

Stormwater schoolyards prioritize multi-purpose infrastructure that delivers stormwater performance while enhancing children’s learning and play opportunities.
