Green power programs have been a pivotal force in shaping a sustainable future by allowing residents and businesses to choose cleaner energy from their electric utility or Community Choice Aggregation (CCA) program. Since the year 2000, the National Renewable Energy Lab (NREL) has recognized outstanding green power programs through its annual “Top 10” lists. The 2022 rankings continue to highlight utility green pricing programs but also mark a new milestone with the inclusion of rankings of CCA green power sales for the first time.

team has run a construction pre-apprenticeship training program in the SFPUC’s regional service territory. The program provides seven weeks of general construction training and is organized by the Tuolumne Community Collaborative which is a collective of local community service providers and the SFPUC. The training includes basic understanding of tools and building, job readiness, and certifications in machine operation and health and safety which prepares the participants to enter the construction trades.
